In the Benedictine tradition, The Grey Robes strive to follow the monastic way of life outlined by St. Benedict in his Rule. Thus, our lives are devoted to God through work and prayer.
Although we do not live in common, the members of our order promise a life of stability, conversion and obedience. As married, committed and single professed, these promises are, first and foremost, lived out in our own homes and workplace as they make up our basic community. Afterwards, we come together as a religious community to share in common prayer, social justice work and support for one another.
As a religious institute, our prayer practices include the Liturgy of the Hours, various forms of meditation and Lectio Divina. We are committed to the daily reading of the Rule of Benedict and strive to apply its teachings to our daily lives.
Please feel free to review our Charter and Rule and, if you feel inclined, to request information on becoming a member.
